Prisoner of Azkaban
I've seen Prisoner of Azkaban twice now... I know, I'm a total nerd (third time coming with Lindsay in a couple days). I liked it better the second time, as I tend to do with most movies anyway. Spoiler-ish things contained in the post, so if you don't want to read them... well... don't.
Dementors and werewolf? VERY cool. That was the scariest werewolf I have ever seen, and my heart was literally pounding during the scene with Harry and Sirius and the Dementors on the lakeshore. I hate Dementors.
Wish there had been more Ron, but I loved seeing so much Hermione. They're my two favorite characters ever, no kidding around. (Possible exception of Mulder and Scully.) Loved the tension between Ron and Hermione.
Mad about how much they left out/edited out, especially the end. (Explain the Marauder's Map! and Crookshanks! and where was my Pigwidgeon? Hm? You're not going to have time to put all that in at the beginning of gargantuan Goblet of Fire. You owe me, Steve Kloves. You already do your best to turn my Ron into an absolute brainless sidekick. I HATE YOU, HORRIBLE SCREENWRITER.)
Loved Lupin-- though I thought he could have been a bit more charming. Lupin, to me, had a kind of sweetheart charm in the books-- he was missing his sense of humor or something. Loved Sirius. Liked Dumbledore well enough. Thought Pettigrew was a bit much.
Overall, though, I thought it was a fabulous interpretation of the book-- as opposed to an adaptation. There was a lot of attention paid to detail; I liked the castle so much better. It was more like I picture it in my head.
What'd you think?
